SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and system for transfer of fluid medium between first vessel (1) and second vessel (10) in open sea at parallel arrangement, wherein first vessel (1) is equipped with cargo connection point (6), and second vessel (10) is equipped with cargo manifold (14), wherein between point (6) of cargo joint and cargo manifold (14) can be connected pipeline (20), this method includes the following: attaching self-propelled buoy (12) to second vessel (10); connecting cargo connection (16) between self-moving buoy (12) and cargo manifold (14); connecting cargo pipeline (18) between cargo connection point (6) and self-propelled buoy (12); pumping cargo between cargo connection point (6) and second vessel (10); self-propelled buoy (12) is actuated to hold said self-propelled buoy (12) within preset limits (36, 38) of distances from first ship (1) and when self-propelled buoy (12) is attached to second vessel (10). Invention discloses a fluid pumping system implementing said method.
