FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding production and can be used in designs of welding heads for orbital welding of pipelines. Welding head comprises base arranged on base plate with its rotation drive and mechanism of welding head fixation on welded pipeline, installed on faceplate welding torch with mechanism of its tuning movement and coil for filler wire with drive of its supply. At that, the locking mechanism has T-shaped rotary levers with replaceable inserts, which are made with possibility of synchronous movement of the levers during fixation or unfolding of the welding head on the pipeline.
EFFECT: use of invention improves quality of welding of pipelines.
