FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a catalyst composition for increasing selectivity to acrylonitrile during conversion of propylene to acrylonitrile by reacting in a vapour phase at high temperature and pressure of said propylene with a gas containing molecular oxygen, and ammonia and a method for increasing selectivity to acrylonitrile during conversion of propylene to acrylonitrile by reacting in a vapour phase at high temperature and pressure of said propylene with a gas containing molecular oxygen, and ammonia in the presence of said composition. Catalytic composition contains complex of metal oxides, wherein relative ratios of said elements in said catalyst composition are represented by the following formula: MomBiaFebAcDdEeFfGgCehOx, wherein A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium; and D is at least one element selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, manganese, zinc, magnesium, calcium, strontium, cadmium and barium; E is at least one element selected from the group consisting of chromium, tungsten, boron, aluminium, gallium, indium, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony, vanadium and tellurium; F is at least one element selected from the group consisting of lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium, samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium, lutecium, scandium, yttrium, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, aluminium, gallium, indium, thallium, silicon, germanium and less than approximately 10 ppm of lead; G is at least one element selected from the group consisting of silver, gold, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium, platinum and mercury; and a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h and x respectively represent atomic ratios of bismuth (Bi), iron (Fe), A, D, E, F, G, cerium (Ce) and oxygen (O) relative to "m" of molybdenum (Mo) atoms, where ranges from 0.05 to 7, b ranges from 0.1 to 7, c ranges from 0.01 to 5, d ranges from 0.1 to 12, e is from 0 to 5, f ranges from 0 to 5, g ranges from 0 to 0.2, h ranges from 0.01 to 5, m ranges from 10 to 15, and x is the number of oxygen atoms required to satisfy the valence requirements of other present constituent elements; wherein 0.5 ≤ a/h < 1.5, and 0.3 ≤ (a + h) / d ≤ 1, and 0.8 ≤ h / b ≤ 5.
EFFECT: technical result is higher selectivity to acrylonitrile.
