FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in in DC networks, for example, for protection against short-circuit currents. In the method for detecting the aperiodic process characteristic, a chain reaction with a large time constant is used to change external disturbing current. Method allows to obtain value of DC increment in the first moment of occurrence of this increment. On the basis of this solution, sensor of detecting feature of aperiodic process, in form of current increment is obtained. Bus 2.0 has slot 2.9, which forms two branches, one without inductance, the other with inductance 2.4. At change of external current in branches of the sensor there is an internal current bearing information on external current.
