FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used for flanging holes in sheet workpiece. At the stage of placement punch is located on one side of sheet workpiece with through hole, and support element is located on its opposite side. At extrusion step, flange is formed by moving punch relative to workpiece in direction of opposite side and extrusion of peripheral edge of through hole in workpiece by means of punch and support element in direction of workpiece sheet thickness.
EFFECT: cracking of front end section of flange flanging is suppressed, which improves quality of sheet workpieces.
