FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for measuring soil moisture content. Essence of the invention is that the method of determining soil moisture includes a temperature-weight method of determining humidity and a method of determining soil moisture by dielectric properties of soil, wherein soil is taken as electrolyte of electrolytic capacitors, and equivalent series resistance (ESR) of said electrolyte is measured, and in order to determine moisture content, two parallel wells are drilled, into which two cylinders are buried, on the walls of which the capacitors coatings are fixed, which are isolated from each other and from the monitored soil, at their lowering into wells space formed by capacitor plates is filled with soil with undisturbed structure, wherein soil during well preparation is selected from each layer to determine soil moisture using a temperature-weight method.

EFFECT: technical result is enabling determination of soil moisture by a temperature-weight method.
