FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of adsorbents, carriers for catalysts, fillers of composite materials, heat-insulating materials. Method of producing nanosized aluminium oxide involves an aluminium oxidation step in the presence of a liquid phase catalyst which contains tellurium oxide and/or bismuth oxide. Oxidation of aluminium is carried out at temperature higher than 660 °C and lower than 1400 °C with simultaneous coexistence in the reactor of a gas phase containing oxygen, liquid phase (I) containing aluminium, and a liquid phase (II) containing an aluminium oxidation catalyst. Liquid phase (II) is not mixed with aluminium-containing liquid phase (I) and forms a film on its surface.
EFFECT: invention simplifies production of a large amount of nanosized aluminium oxide of the selected morphology without using highly toxic materials and chemical compounds.
