FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry and can be used in electronic industry and industry of composite materials. Powder or sheets of monocrystalline silicon undergo preliminary cleaning, put into a reactor pot which is evacuated to 10-2 mm Hg and heated to 1200-1415°C. The reactor pot is then filled with carbon monoxide from which moisture and oxygen have been removed and silicon and carbon monoxide are held at the given temperature for 5-600 minutes and then cooled. He obtained silicon carbide nanofibre is washed from silicon dioxide or mixture of silicon dioxide with unreacted silicon.
EFFECT: invention enables synthesis of silicon carbide nanofibre with high output at low temperature, obtain high-quality and chemically pure product.
