FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used for biological treatment of waste water. Devices comprise an internal biological reactor which combines and mixes waste water and recirculated biomass, and an external selector, which operates on a waste stream from an internal biological reactor for collecting and holding biomass aggregates. At that, aggregates have concentration gradient of substrate and electron acceptor, which provides formation of granules, and not flakes and fibers. An external gravimetric selector or selector with a mesh filter is designed to collect, hold and separate dense and large granules and biomass aggregates and discharge the lightest fibers and flakes. Collected biomass aggregates are returned into internal biological reactor. Methods include combining waste water and recycled biomass in an internal biological reactor to generate such morphological properties of biomass, which provide formation of granules, supply of biomass wastes flow, which contains granulated biomass, from internal biological reactor to external selector. Dense granules are separated on a gravimetric selector, for example a hydrocyclone, a centrifuge, and lighter fibers and flakes are discharged into the output flow of biomass wastes. Encapsulating particles in the form of different materials can be added to the bioreactor to provide formation of granules in the method and in the device.
EFFECT: inventions provide higher efficiency and reliability of the biological treatment system, stable and reliable removal of phosphorus and nitrogen without chemical deposition.
