FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of polymer nanoparticles based on polyalkyl(meth)acrylates, copolymers of alkyl(meth)acrylates. Method involves two-step synthesis. First step involves synthesis of emulsifier-free emulsion radical polymerisation of alkyl methacrylates, copolymerisation of alkyl(meth)acrylates with other monomers in an aqueous medium in the absence of surfactants and obtaining latexes with submicron dimensions of polymer copolymer particles. At the second stage of synthesis, submicron particles are partially dissolved in low-molecular aliphatic alcohols or their mixture with water to form polyalkyl(meth)acrylate nanoparticles, alkyl(meth)acrylate copolymers. Mixtures of alcohols with water dissolve submicron particles to nanoparticles with average diameter less than 50 nm.
EFFECT: method enables to reduce the cost of the process and eliminate the operation of cleaning nanoparticles from the emulsifier.
