FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of transparent components of clocks, in particular, to the area of watch glass made of hard material, such as sapphire, mineral glass, etc. Method for cutting of watch glass (1) along contour (2) in plate from transparent material (3) is carried out in accordance with following stages: making, on first side (4) of plate (3) of first cutting or cutting line (5) to form first chamfer (6) for each glass (1) of plate (3); inverting plate (3) and determining position of first chamfers (6) or previously made mechanically processed mark (4); making, on second side (7), second cutting or cutting line (8) to form second chamfer (9) for each glass (1); separation of glasses (1) by means of through machining of plate (3) along each contour (2) for formation of edge (11) of glass (1).

EFFECT: method allows chamfering and cutting glass at high speed.
