FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of a local network of client systems (for example, Internet devices of things, such as smartphones, household equipment, wearable devices, etc.) from computer security threats. For this purpose, when introducing a local network, some versions of implementing a network controller establish a security tunnel connecting the network controller with the remote configuration server. Tunnel may be configured to redirect messages received through the tunnel to a router which provides network services to client systems in a local network. In some embodiments, the tunnel is used by a configuration server to send a message to the router, wherein the message is configured to interrupt router operation. In response to the interruption, the network controller may take over the network services from the router and automatically establish the network controller as a gateway into the local network.
EFFECT: technical result is automatic detection and configuration of such devices for their safety.
