SUBSTANCE: invention relates to network communication technologies. Method of protecting network devices comprises the steps of: receiving, by means of a computer system implementing a gateway to a private network, from the client device, a request for a network tunnel between the client device and the network device in the private network; authenticating the client device through the computer system; receiving, from an authentication server communicating with the computer system, a client access list that includes a list of network devices with which the client device is allowed to communicate; verifying, by the computer system, that the network device in the private network is part of the list of network devices with which the client device is allowed to communicate; and establishing, by means of a computer system, a network tunnel between the client device and the network device in the private network via a gateway, wherein the network device in the private network includes an application server providing the service.

EFFECT: technical result is improved data transmission security.
