FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for detecting current-conducting objects, e.g. firearms and (or) cold weapons, metal-containing explosive devices etc. using induction coils. Self-contained power supply system arched metal detector contains an autonomous power supply source with a solar module on its upper surface, placed on the upper panel of the metal detector, and side solar modules placed on the side panels of the metal detector on the outside, self-contained power supply unit is provided with a storage battery unit and a charge controller with an external display unit, wherein the self-contained power supply with the solar module and the side solar modules are provided with attachment and electrical connection devices, independent power supply is equipped with connectors for connection to power connector of metal detector and to external charging device. For convenience of transportation side solar modules are structurally separated into several electrically connected segments, with possibility of their transportation in folded form (book).

EFFECT: invention can provide independent power supply of metal detector by consumption of solar energy accumulated by solar modules for at least 24 hours.
