SUBSTANCE: invention relates to criminalistics, forensic medicine and can be used to find and detect traces of hands on metal and other non-porous surfaces for fingerprinting. For this purpose, the contaminated "fat" surface with hand traces is treated with a suspension of coloring substances in distilled water and a rinsing solution from a sprayer or by immersion into a vessel, where said suspension is located. Suspension contains a coloring substance (CS), distilled water (DV) and rinsing solution (RS) at ratio of (2–6):1:(10–20) respectively, wherein CS is selected from gouache production enterprises "PC chemical plant "Luch" and "Factory of artistic paints "Nevskaya Palitra", as well as dry art pigments production LLC "Experimental Workshop of Art Technologies", and rinse is selected from rinsers for dishwashers Bravix Klazspuler ("Dreco Worke GmbH") and "Paclan Brileo" (AO "McBride"). Suspension action time is 1–5 minutes, then treated surface is washed with water, dried and visually inspected.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain high-quality contrast traces of hands without further cleaning of traces with fingerprint brush on "fat" contaminated metal and other non-porous surfaces, which have been exposed to unfavorable environment.
