FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves reaction on one step of a mixture of monomeric silane ethers and monomeric silane ethers modified by organic groups with a hydrolysing agent. The silane ether modified by organic groups contains an aryl-containing group. The hydrolysing agent is either an acid or alkali. The mixture of monomers and hydrolysing agent is mixed with a dye and/or dyed particles which are introduced into hydrophobic silicon oxide particles. The silicon oxide hydrophobic particles are applied onto a surface on which there are or may be fingerprints, in form of dust or a suspension which contains water or water-miscible solvent.
EFFECT: simple single-step method of producing hydrophobic silicon dioxide particles, obtaining safe particles which ensure better detection and visualisation of hidden fingerprints.
