SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics. Method for early diagnosis of carbohydrate metabolism disorders involves determining the level of specific IgE to insulin (kE/l) by solid-phase non-competitive indirect enzyme immunoassay (EIA), insulin level (mcU/ml) using a two-stage "sandwich" version of solid-phase EIA in blood serum, calculating the IgE-insulin index (IgE/I) based on calculating the ratio of the IgE level to insulin to the insulin level, wherein the index is more than 5.0 - the normal level of carbohydrate metabolism; index 4.0–4.9 - boundary situation; index 3.0–3.9 - progressive index decrease - carbohydrate metabolism disturbance, predisposition to diabetes mellitus; index 2.1–2.9 - manifested carbohydrate metabolism disorder, concealed diabetes; index less than 2.0 - impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes mellitus.

EFFECT: invention can be used for detection of carbohydrate metabolism disorders at early stages and detection of concealed diabetes against background of normal glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin.
