FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a water-based coating composition. Composition according to present invention includes emulsified binding material, wherein said binding material is a polymer selected from a group consisting of polymers obtained by emulsion polymerisation of unsaturated vinyl, acrylate and/or methacrylate monomers, from 0.3. % to 10 wt. % of a second polymer, selected from one or more polymers from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and water-soluble copolymers having repeating units of vinyl alcohol, where, if the second polymer is polyvinyl alcohol, at least 85 wt. % of the second polymer has a number of repeating units of not less than 2,000 and 0.03 wt. % to 15 wt. % of cellulose-based filler selected from group consisting of relative to total weight of composition, in which the weight ratio of the second polymer and binder is in range of 1:40 to 1:3. Described also is a method of producing a substrate-like imitating coating on a substrate, a coated substrate.
EFFECT: composition can be used in various applications to form a decorative coating, which has a special visual and tactile effect.
