FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device and method for expanding a suspension of thermally expandable thermoplastic microspheres. Device for expanding thermally expandable thermoplastic microspheres comprises: a heating zone capable of withstanding pressure of at least 4 bar, wherein said heating zone has an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe; pump for feeding a suspension of thermally expandable thermoplastic microspheres into a heating zone and capable of generating pressure of at least 4 bar in a heating zone; apparatus for heating a suspension of thermally expandable thermoplastic microspheres in a heating zone to a temperature of at least 60 °C, without direct contact of suspension with any fluid heat transfer medium; wherein said outlet pipe is secured to distribution pipe between inlet and outlet of distribution pipe. Group of inventions is developed in dependent claims.
EFFECT: technical result is obtaining thermoplastic microspheres, which do not contain agglomerates having homogeneous density distribution.
