FIELD: expanding apparatus, method for producing expanded thermoplastic micro-spheres.
SUBSTANCE: expanding apparatus for producing expanded thermoplastic micro-spheres includes rotated feeding device surrounded by hollow housing; one or several scrapers mounted in feeding device between outer radius of feeding device and inner surface of hollow housing. Method for producing expanded thermoplastic micro-spheres with use of such apparatus comprises steps of loading micro-spheres subjected to thermal expansion to expanding apparatus; moving micro-spheres through expanding apparatus and simultaneously increasing their temperature; discharging expanded micro-spheres.
EFFECT: elimination of problem caused by agglomeration of micro-spheres, possibility for continuous production of micro-spheres with narrow range of their density distribution.
