FIELD: textile.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed are fabrics containing hydrophilic fibres from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) and at least one fibre not from ePTFE. These fabrics provide a combination of high air permeability and moisture control means. In typical embodiments fabric can be woven, knitted or fleece fabric. Fabrics contain at least 15 % ePTFE fibres in terms of final fabric. Hydrophilic ePTFE fibres in the fabric can be used to control moisture, such as water vapour, liquid water, or sweat inside the tissue, by storing moisture inside the network of hydrophilic EPTFE fibres. Besides, outside hydrophilic ePTFE fibres, there is little or no moisture, therefore tissue is felt as dry, even when it contains moisture.
EFFECT: polymer membrane and/or textile can be laminated to produce a laminated article.
