FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of light bulk non-organic construction materials, specifically to technology of silicate heat-insulating materials. Method of making granulated foamed glass involves preparation and grinding of a crude mixture containing scrap glass, perlite, borax and a foaming agent, granules forming and foaming at 700–800 °C. In the disclosed method, the crude mixture is prepared in the following ratio, pts. wt.: 80–84 – scrap glass, 14–18 – pearlite, 1.8–3.0 – borax, foaming agent – 0.2–0.4. Technical carbon and a catalyst in form of antimony trioxide Sb2O3 are added to the foaming agent composition. Ratio of the catalyst to the foaming agent is 10–50 %. Grinding of all components of the crude mixture is carried out together, foaming is 5–15 minutes, wherein the foamed granules have density in range of 115–270 kg/m3.
EFFECT: disclosed method is aimed at reducing specific power consumption when producing granulated foamed glass due to faster granulation of granules during thermal treatment.
