FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, specifically to a method of purifying lactide containing impurities of meso-lactide, lactic acid and low-molecular ligand oligomers, by recrystallization from a series of organic solvents, characterized in that recrystallization is carried out step-by-step not more than three times from two solvents of different nature, which are aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic alcohols C1–C5 and added in series, under conditions of one purification method.
EFFECT: novel simple and accessible method of purifying lactide, which is one of the initial monomers in ring-opening reactions when producing valuable biodegradable polymers, which are widely used in medicine, pharmaceutics, food industry and in modern additive technologies.
