SUBSTANCE: invention refers to biotechnology, microbiology. Disclosed is a strain of bacteria Pseudoalteromonas prydzensis ARC 46, capable of decomposition of oil and oil products. Strain of bacteria Pseudoalteromonas prydzensis is deposited in the Russian National Collection of Industrial Microorganisms under registration number VKPM V-13104 and can be used for cleaning of water areas of water bodies, shoreline contaminated with oil and oil products, at temperature from +20 to -2.5 °C and salinity 30±10 g/l in nutrient-poor conditions.
EFFECT: invention increases degree of cleaning of water areas and shoreline from oil and oil products.
