FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industry of construction materials and specifically to production of aqueous emulsions for treatment for imparting hydrophobizated (water-repellent) properties to building materials. Method of producing water-repellent aqueous emulsion for coatings of construction materials, consisting in the fact that polyvinyl alcohol is introduced in small portions under constant stirring in amount of 10 % of total weight, then solution is heated to temperature not higher than 80 °C, stirring until complete dissolution, re-cooling and adding polyethylhydrosiloxane and in the obtained solution of polyvinyl alcohol, gradually, for at least 90 minutes, is introduced into polyethylhydrosiloxane, after which a low-molecular polyatomic alcohol is added to the obtained emulsion, wherein the ratio of the solution of polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylhydrosiloxane is taken to be 3:2 by weight, wherein polyethylhydrosiloxane is pre-thermostated to temperature of 60–70 °C, and the low-molecular polyatomic alcohol is added to the cooled emulsion in amount of 10 % of the weight of the emulsion.

EFFECT: technical effect of application of composition characterized by addition of low-molecular polyatomic alcohol to emulsion obtained by said method using phase inversion method consists in formation of coating with increased contact angle of wetting, which positively affects increase of its water-repellent properties.
