FIELD: textile industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of textile materials. Method to improve water-repellent properties of felt materials consists in treatment of felt material in suspension alcohol-nanopowder hydrophobic silicon dioxide of Wacker HDK N20 grade (Germany) under the effect of acoustic cavitation in ultrasonic bath. Ethyl alcohol is used which is a low-polarity organic solvent.

EFFECT: invention provides material hydrophobicity, characterised by limiting the water wetting angle value not less than by 120°, this method is easy, technologically effective, safe and does not require large material or energy costs.
