FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to catalyst regeneration used in production of polysulphide solution. Described is a method of regenerating a catalyst based on activated carbon used in producing a polysulphide solution through oxidation of white liquor, which contains at least 1 mg/l of iron, in the presence of said catalyst, wherein according to the present method, the catalyst is washed with a washing solution in order to remove a slightly soluble residue which has accumulated in the catalyst, containing elemental sulphur and iron, as well as manganese, calcium and magnesium, characterized in that the used washing solution is a washing solution containing sodium sulphide, wherein the activated carbon-based catalyst is regenerated by subjecting it to multi-step washing, which includes at least one washing step with sodium sulphide and at least one washing step carried out using an acidic washing solution.
EFFECT: technical result is providing a method of regenerating a catalyst based on activated carbon, used in producing polysulphide solution, when polysulphide is formed by oxidation from white liquor with high content of iron.
