FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to use of the base oil obtained from the Fischer-Tropsch process in a lubricating composition which is motor oil for passenger cars, to reduce the early-low-speed ignition (RED) in the internal combustion engine, wherein the Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil has kinematic viscosity at 100 °C of at least 2.5 mm2/s and not more than 8.5 mm2/s.
EFFECT: provided is the use of Fischer-Tropsch derived base oil in a lubricating composition for reducing the occurrence of Low Speed Pre-ignition (LSPI) in an internal combustion engine.
