FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and devices for extinguishing grassland forest fires with soil and laying fire-prevention mineralized strips. Method of forest fire extinguishing includes formation of loosened soil surface located on ground surface, and its movement into zone of fire moving edge. During operation soil is cut in form of formation, raised above surface of earth, then divided into separate layers. Layers are moved along different trajectories at different speed to area of moving edge of fire, covering it with layer of soil with thickness and width of strip, sufficient for extinguishing of ground forest fire at maintaining high speed of movement. Also disclosed is a machine for extinguishing a forest ground fire, comprising a frame, a suspension mechanism, a working member for preparing soil to move towards the fire edge, a rotor-thrower with blades arranged on it and a drive. Machine comprises working tool for preparation of soil to move towards fire edge is made in form of U-shaped bracket and inclined elevator tray. Rotor-thrower is made in form of two truncated cones on vertical axis of rotation, connected to each other by bases of smaller diameter, with possibility of deviation of axis from vertical in transverse plane, on top of which there are blades in several radially arranged tiers, controlled by angle of their installation to plane rotation.

EFFECT: increasing operating speed and efficiency, providing more effective extinguishing of forest fires due to excavation of soil stratum.
