FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of molding mixture for foundry production, particularly, to curing agent for liquid glass for foundry production, its production and application. Proposed curing agent for liquid glass contains ester, amorphous silicon dioxide and water, in which amorphous silicon dioxide is pyrogenic amorphous silicon dioxide and/or precipitated amorphous silicon dioxide. Curing agent contains 20–40 % of the ester, 30–60 % of amorphous silicon dioxide and 5–30 % of water by weight ratio. Disclosed is the use of said curing agent for liquid glass as a strength enhancing agent for a molding mixture for making a mold and a molding core. Also disclosed is a self-curing molding mixture containing, by weight ratio of 95–98 % quartz sand, 1.8–2.5 % liquid glass and 0.6–1.6 % liquid agent to increase strength in form of said curing agent for liquid glass for foundry.

EFFECT: invention increases strength of self-curing molding mixture containing liquid glass and is characterized by considerable improvement in tensile strength.
