FIELD: seismic acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismic acoustics and can be used to determine thickness of ice wall during artificial freezing of soils during mining shafts sinking. According to the disclosed method, a system consisting of a sparker source of seismic vibrations and a string of piezoelectric seismic receivers is placed in the control well drilled from the outside of the ice track. Shifting the system along the well shaft at a distance multiple of the seismic receiver pitch, seismoacoustic signals are excited and recorded. Recorded data are digitally processed using a common depth point (CDP) technique. Resultant wave fields are used to determine arrival times and propagation velocities of longitudinal waves reflected from vertical boundaries formed during freezing of rock mass, on the basis of which the thickness of the ice wall formed at the current stage of freezing is determined.
EFFECT: reduction of labor costs and improvement of reliability of determination of thickness of ice wall at a specific stage of freezing in complex of obligatory measures to control its quality and geometrical parameters.
