SUBSTANCE: device comprises a filling unit configured to supply a product into a container, comprising a pump and a filling nozzle at one end thereof, a drive unit for moving the container relative to the filling unit, or vice versa, back and forth between the first position, in which the container bottom end is located at maximum distance from the filling nozzle, and the second position, in which the container bottom end is located at minimum distance from the filling nozzle. Device also comprises control unit, made with possibility to control supply of product through filling nozzle and control drive. At that, the control unit is additionally configured to record the final operating position of the drive unit corresponding to the second position, assigning the detected position as the new initial position for the drive unit and calculating a new motion profile of the drive unit to control movement from the second position to the first based on the new home position. Control unit is additionally made with possibility of initiating the product supply through the filling nozzle before the drive unit reaches the final working position. Invention also relates to a method for filling a container with a product which is carried out using the above-described device.
