FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectrometry of charged particles and can be used for measurement of energy spectrum of pulse-periodic and continuous beams of charged particles. In a charged particle spectrometer comprising series-arranged electroconductive absorbing elements isolated from each other and a voltage pulse recording and processing system, wherein total thickness of absorbing elements is in accordance with extrapolated range of charged particles with maximum energy in material of absorbing elements, according to the invention, the novel feature is that each absorbing element is connected to the grounding bus through a smoothing integrating RC-filter consisting of parallel-connected resistor and capacitor, at that, the recording and processing system is connected to the non-ground terminal of the resistor.
EFFECT: suppressing high-frequency harmonics in the detected signal while maintaining the possibility of determining the distribution of voltages on the absorbing elements with subsequent recovery of the energy spectrum of the charged particles in real time.
