FIELD: medicine; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing an antimicrobial suture surgical suture. Method involves impregnating a polyamide thread-base of a poly-filament structure at normal temperature and pressure with a water-based antimicrobial composition comprising chitosan with a doxycycline additive and monohydrate-1-hydroxygermatrane, squeezing excess antimicrobial composition and air drying with air temperature of 150–250 °C. Immediately before impregnation of base yarn and immediately after wringing it is treated with atmospheric plasma of corona discharge with total irradiation dose of 2–200 mA*m-1·s.
EFFECT: obtaining a modified filament having prolonged antimicrobial activity by simple and cheap technology with high efficiency.
