FIELD: separation.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to separation of a mixture of gases, in particular to a method and a device for separating a mixture of gases on molecular weight, and can be used for production of ultrapure gases required by modern industry, as well as in the nuclear industry for preparation of isotope-enriched mixtures. Method is carried out by passing initial mixture of gases through channel with provision of mechanical action on channel, in which inner surface of channel walls changes its shape in time by law of traveling wave. Device includes a unit providing movement of the inner surface of the channel walls or the channel system as per the law of traveling wave, which can be represented by a generator of surface acoustic waves or a generator of mechanical oscillations.
EFFECT: invention enables to separate gas mixtures with a high separation coefficient without using parts and complex equipment subjected to wear, as well as separation of various gas mixtures at the same plant without replacement of working medium, but only by controlling characteristics of generator of mechanical oscillations.
