FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: anode for electrolysis of an aqueous solution of alkali, comprising layers 2, 3 of an electrode catalyst, consisting of a first catalyst component containing either spinel-type nickel-cobalt oxide, or a perovskite-type lanthanide-nickel-cobalt oxide and a second catalyst component containing at least one of the following oxides: iridium oxide and ruthenium oxide, where layers are formed on surface of conducting main part 1, consisting of nickel or nickel-based alloy, and method of making anode for electrolysis of aqueous solution of alkali.
EFFECT: invention relates to an anode for electrolysis of aqueous solution of alkali, which has low cost and can provide low overvoltage, as well as a method of making such an anode for electrolysis of aqueous solution of alkali.
