FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of forming shaped parts from titanium alloy with high strength and corrosion resistance. Method of producing part from titanium alloy includes heating of cast ingot or forged billet from titanium alloy, initiation of heated ingot or billet extrusion, when temperature of heated ingot or billet is higher than temperature of beta-transition, with formation of extruded part with profile close to final one, wherein the extruded part with a profile close to the end has a non-planar shape, which is selected from a group consisting of: π-shaped, C-shaped, T-shaped, H-shaped, I-shaped and L-shaped. Then extruded part is cooled to temperature in cooled condition, which is lower than beta transition temperature, and rolling one or more times at one or more values of rolling temperature to produce part with final profile. Rolling temperature is lower than initial melting point of alloy and is within 600 °F (333 °C) beta-transition temperature. Rolling stage is performed so that part with final profile retains non-flat shape of extruded part with profile close to final shape, and part with final profile is thinner in at least one measurement compared to extruded part with profile close to end profile.
EFFECT: obtained parts are characterized by high mechanical properties.
