SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Disclosed is a computer-implemented method of indexing data for native applications in an index, which is adapted to search thereon by a search mechanism, performed by a data processing device, having one or more computers with data exchange capability, wherein the method comprises steps of: accessing, for each of the plurality of native applications, a propagation file for the native application, wherein the propagation file includes a collection of files which are used to distribute and install the native application to the user device, and for each native application: determining, based on one or more files of the distribution file, the name of the native application, which definition includes a step of selecting from one or more of the distribution file files as the application name a text string which defines the display name for the thumbnail applications; performing, on the data processing device, access to application pages of native application and, for each of the application pages, generating application page data describing application page content, and application page name for application page; and indexing application data pages and application name for native application in said index.

EFFECT: enabling indexing data for native applications in an index which is adapted to search therefrom by a search mechanism.
