FIELD: jersey and knitting production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to knitting needles and methods of their production. Disclosed is an improved knitting pin with at least one needle tip (11) and a rod, on which a knitted product can be placed in at least separate regions. Besides, gripping area (13) is provided, which is located on the rod near needle tip (11) and has a round cross-section, wherein gripping area (13) can be grasped by the user during knitting. Knitting pin along its length narrows from the rod in direction of spoke tip (11). Tip (11) of the spoke is strongly rounded and there is drop-shaped bulge (20), which has considerably smaller diameter than the rod. Transition between rod and narrowing (14) and between narrowing (14) of rod and reverse drop (20) is made without edges and with insignificant resistance to friction. Knitting pin is made in the form of a circular knitting pin (40), at that during manufacture of the circular knitting pin (40) rope (41) is pressed by material of the rod.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced risk of injury and risk of yarn piercing, enabling ergonomic knitting with low amplitude in the nature of movements of user's wrists, as well as reduced costs when making circular knitting needles.
