SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Technical result is achieved by displaying sets of characters in separate interactive areas of the device screen, on which the password is checked; reading user selection of said sets of symbols until number of readings equals number of symbols in password; comparing each symbol from symbols contained in said sets of symbols selected by a user with corresponding password symbols; issuing a signal characterizing validity of user input password, if each symbol contained in said sets of symbols selected by the user comprises a symbol which is identical to the corresponding symbol of the password sequence, in which during reading of user selection of said sets of symbols after each selection, symbols in said sets of symbols are re-distributed between sets of symbols and each separate interactive area of said screen of device is configured to be activated by user.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of safety of password verification process.
