FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, namely, to drilling vessels. Disclosed is a drilling research vessel having a housing, a drilling rig, a drilling shaft for lowering a drill string, equipped with deck and bottom closures, made in the form of rectangular rotary covers, at that, semi-rings are welded into rotary covers. In closed position they form limiting rings for drill string passage, and their inner diameters ensure bending of drill string along large radius at ship rolling, in other words, bend of drill string is limited.
EFFECT: covers do not occupy space in working zones of vessel and allow to perform operations with large-size equipment.
