FIELD: physics; chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to physical and chemical analysis methods, particularly to a potentiometric method of determining concentration of mercury ions in solutions. Disclosed is a chemical sensor membrane for determining concentration of mercury (II) ions in aqueous solutions, including chalcogenide glass, consisting of: 1) potential-determining substance; 2) compounds with high ion-electronic conductivity; 3) glass-forming agent, where mercury iodide HgI2 is used as potential-determining substance in amount of 15–35 mol. %. as a compound with high ionic conductivity silver Ag2Se selenide is used in amount of 15–35 mol. %, and as a glass-forming agent - arsenic selenide As2Se3 in amount of 40–60 mol. %.
EFFECT: invention provides longer life and improved stability of chemical sensor operation on mercury ions in acidic media.
