PLANT AND METHOD OF RECYCLING LUMINESCENT LAMPS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B09B3/00 C22B7/00

Abstract RU 2712726 C1

FIELD: waste processing and disposal.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to treatment of mercury-containing wastes. Method of luminescent lamps recycling includes the first process of mercury-containing luminophor powder extraction from luminescent lamps at their separation into components, which is performed at the recycling unit. Second process of decontaminating mercury of said powder when mixed with calcium polysulphide-based solution to obtain low-hazard mercury sulphide as a result of chemical reaction. Third process of making concrete mixture using said powder when mixed with cement and water. Second and third processes are successively performed in vibration mixer chamber (21). Plant for recycling luminescent lamps comprises loading device (1) for luminescent lamps, crusher (2) with vibratory separator (9), made with possibility of separating luminescent lamps in air flow into components: crushed glass, metal caps and mercury-containing phosphor powder. Plant for recycling luminescent lamps comprises cyclone (3), one outlet of which is configured to discharge the main portion of said powder from the air stream into detachable chamber (21) of vibratory mixer, and other outlet of which is configured to discharge main part of air flow with insignificant part of said powder to air flow cleaning means (4 and 5). Plant for recycling luminescent lamps comprises device (6) for creating an air rarefaction, intended for moving luminescent lamps from loading device (1) into crusher (2), cleaning glass and caps from a powder in vibratory separator (9), as well as to move said powder from said crusher (2) into cyclone (3) to extract powder from air flow into chamber (21) of vibratory mixer.

EFFECT: simplified process of recycling mercury-containing phosphor by using single reservoir for collection of mercury-containing phosphor powder.
