FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to flow-measuring equipment, in particular to designs of ultrasonic fluid flow meters, based on measurement of difference of transit time of ultrasonic oscillations in flow and against it, for pipelines of small diameter, and can be used in oil, chemical and nuclear industries, as well as in heat engineering. Ultrasonic flow meter for small diameter pipelines comprises measuring section connected via inlet and outlet branch pipes with pipeline, and two transceiving electroacoustic transducers connected to electronic unit. Measuring section is made in the form of two semi-cylindrical segments smoothly conjugated with flat walls forming flow section of measuring section, which is a narrow inner cavity with width smaller than diameter of pipeline, height exceeding its diameter, and having cross-sectional area equal to pipeline cross-section area, wherein the contour of the cross-section of the narrow inner cavity is shaped to a closed flat extremal curve consisting of two oppositely located semi-circles conjugated with two parallel straight segments, distance between which is equal to width of narrow inner cavity of flow section of measuring section, inlet and outlet branch pipe are located on same axis, and their inner surfaces smoothly mate with beginning and end of narrow inner cavity of measuring section, wherein cross-section area of branch pipes along their entire length is equal to cross-section area of pipeline. Two transceiving electroacoustic transducers are located on external surfaces of opposite semicylindrical segments of measuring section at an angle to its axis.
EFFECT: high accuracy of the ultrasonic flowmeter, as well as wider range of measuring flow rates by reducing the minimum flow rate.
