FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: sensor of an ultrasonic flowmeter can be used to define the flow rate of gases and fluids. It consists of a single-pass channel with acoustic transducers being set at its ends, and two branch pipes connecting the channel with the pipeline to be controlled. An acoustic axis of the transducers is shifted in respect to the symmetry axis of the single-pass channel. The medium to be controlled is delivered from the branch pipes to the single-pass channel through its side surface connected to the side surface of the branch pipes and is removed in the same way.

EFFECT: simplified design, smaller dimensions without functionality deterioration.
