FIELD: peat extraction.

SUBSTANCE: method includes extraction of peat from deposit, formation of drying figures on the basis of transport facility, removal of drying figures onto drying pad. Extraction of lump peat from the deposit is carried out with an excavator at depth of extraction of not less than 2.5 m and peat moisture content of 56–60 %, into scrap paper or lumber vehicles, forming drying figures with height of not less than 2 m, which are transported outside the production area to the drying site, where peat in the drying figures is subjected to intense low-temperature weathering and sublimation drying for 3–4 days, and dried peat in drying figures with moisture content of 50 % or less is transported to an overload place, where it is loaded into a truck and transported to a processing point.

EFFECT: method is proposed for excavation in winter of peat deposit located in areas inaccessible for production equipment in spring-summer-autumn period of year.
