FIELD: peat production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to peat production, namely, to technology of winter extraction of peat of undisturbed structure under conditions of permafrost. Method includes cutting peat blocks from frozen deposit to entire depth of freezing through longitudinal and transverse saw cuts, forming drying figures and storage, characterized in that prior to peat extraction, performing preliminary evaluation of deposit freezing thickness, for example, by means of georadar survey, when cutting, the outer edges of the extreme blocks are sawed at angle of 70–80°, wherein thickness and width of cut block correspond to depth of deposit freezing, and block length is not less than three block widths, drying figures formation is performed by arrangement of blocks in staggered order, leaving between blocks of cavity (space), width of which is not less than 1/3 of blocks length.
EFFECT: use of the invention increases efficiency of peat extraction and drying under conditions of permafrost in winter without significant rise in the cost of the whole process due to optimization of peat extraction from the frozen deposit and drying of the extracted blocks.
