FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway machine building, particularly, to journal bearing assembly. Journal bearing assembly comprises a double cylindrical roller bearing consisting of two fixed double-breasted external and two rotating external rings, on the inner surface of each of which there are raceways and axial guiding beads, on which cylindrical rollers rest. Outer rings have groove on inner surface of outer sides. Rollers are arranged between outer and inner rings and centered between axial sides by separators. Flat protective washers are fitted in grooves on said inner surfaces of outer sides. Every groove on inner surface of outer ring outer surface is provided with lock groove. Fixing slots are made on surface of inner ring races. Inner rings are interconnected by fastening ring fitted in said grooves. It is possible to fit seals made up of bulged protective washers or bulged multi-edge cassette seals in axle box bearing assembly.
EFFECT: technical result: improved axle bearing assembly design, providing its versatility by enabling installation in standard box housing and adaptation of axle bearing assembly to required operating conditions and prescribed overhaul intervals by installing into seal roller cylinders of different types of sealing assemblies.
