FIELD: refrigerating equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refrigeration engineering, namely to contact gas-liquid heat exchangers. In method of air cooling in heat exchanger, in which air is supplied tangentially to lower part of heat exchanging device with formation of ascending vortex flow, liquid nitrogen is injected into flow of supplied air in zone of maximum speed of air movement, mixing fine-dispersed nitrogen fraction with supplied air and evaporation of liquid nitrogen in boiling layer of nitrogen-air mixture in ascending vortex flow; removing cooled air from axial zone of upper part of heat exchanging device. To implement the method, a heat exchange apparatus is used, comprising a cylindrical housing, a supply and discharge branch pipes, a nozzle for injecting liquid nitrogen, wherein the supply nozzle is installed tangentially in the lower part of the housing, nozzle for injection of liquid nitrogen is installed in supplying branch pipe before inlet into housing, discharge branch pipe is installed along vertical axis inside housing, and inlet of outlet branch pipe is located in upper part of housing.
EFFECT: improving efficiency of heat-and-mass exchange processes and cooling capacity of a heat exchanger.
