FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining physical and mechanical properties of rocks from the value of longitudinal elastic compression of a drill string at the moment of impact on the face in the process of impact-rotary drilling and a device for its implementation. Method includes impact on rock by destructive load and fixation of rock strength index, at that value of longitudinal elastic deformation of compression of drill string is fixed at the moment of striking on face, which is determined according to the given equation, and the determined value is inversely proportional to the rock strength. Device includes a drilling assembly for percussive rotary drilling, a drill string, a bit, a measuring unit, wherein the drill string is equipped with a sensor which is coaxially installed in the wellhead zone of the drill string, which fixes and transmits elastic deformations of the drill string compression at the moment of striking on the face to the receiving device, which is interconnected with the laser range finder, the measuring unit and the computer.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of determination of strength of rocks.
